How Your Words Work – Grammarously Glamorous Coaching in Action
International Coaching Week 2025
How Your Words Work - Grammarously Glamorous Coaching in Action
– Did you know that the word glamour is said to come from the word grammar and the idea of magic in learning?
– If you could sprinkle a little magic dust over the language you use with your clients, what might the impact be?
If you are interested in finding out more about the power of language and it’s impact in coaching, join me for this innovative session and add an element of glamour to your coaching style.
We’ll be looking at how simple changes in grammar and tense direct our thought processes and how as a coach, you can use your words to have greatest impact with your questions and responses.
You’ll learn to intentionally use your language to empower your clients to stop limiting themselves, start connect to their strengths and look back from a place of having already made the changes that they want to make.
We’ll also look at three questions that coaches typically ask in a coaching session and discuss a variety of empowering alternative options.
If you are a lifelong learner, keen to increase your skills in Creating Effective Coaching Agreements, Evoking Awareness and Facilitating Client Growth and curious about the 'L' in Neuro Linguistic Programming, join me for How Your Words Work - Grammarously Glamorous Coachingin Action on Tuesday, May 13th.

Success Stories
"The coaching session with Séamus integrating the Compass Coaching Model was one-of-a-kind! This approach offers a structured yet complex blend of tools that a client needs to move forward with a challenge. It encompasses a goal, a vision, the strengths and resources, as well as the obstacles, a set of actions and next steps, and a connection with one's higher purpose and values. It is a model that can be used in both one-on-one sessions and group settings. To me it brought a lot of value, and it's definitely worth experiencing!"

The Compass Coaching Model in Action - May 2024
I experienced a Compass Coaching session today. It opened my eyes to so many possibilities. I loved the concept of moving in a new direction for each question. In this way, I left the previous thoughts behind and embraced new ones. Answering the questions in my mind gave me the privacy and freedom to acknowledge my strengths and failures. It allowed me to dream big.
Seamus asked me to 'pick up' my strengths from NE and help my weaknesses in SW. This was so metaphorically and symbolically powerful. I had forgotten the list of my strengths thinking about my weaknesses. 'Picking up' my strengths brought them to mind. I used my strengths to help me work with my weaknesses.
At the end of the session, I worked with my mind to set myself up for success. I acknowledged areas in which I would not normally have spoken aloud. I finished the session knowing that my action plan put me firmly on the path to success.
A powerful session, using the compass as a guide to help anchor our thoughts for each question.

"Attending Séamus’ webinars during the ICF coaching week 2023 gave me amazing feelings. I find his sessions to be exceptional, i.e. of a different kind. I love the visual elements, the slides, the start up which sparks engagement, the humour in it, and the linguistic metaphors-it is lively, dynamic, and powerful beyond words. It is a lot of learning I am taking with me and I am looking forward to the next webinars from Séamus and much more."
Thank you for the inspiration

International Coaching Week Webinars - May 2023
“Séamus’s course has provided me with an amazing insight into the world of coaching and its application in all areas of communication, in both professional and personal contexts.
The discoveries and learnings gained from the carefully prepared content have been extremely valuable and have made me want to continue to explore and put into practice what I have learned about the power of coaching as a tool to facilitate growth and enable others to achieve their potential.
Of course, none of this would have been possible without the skill and expertise of Séamus himself, who is a master of communication, an exceptional coach and teacher trainer, who orchestrates the whole process meticulously yet effortlessly, motivating the group and encouraging us to “climb to the top of the tree” in all walks of life, connecting with that higher purpose which we all strive for.”

Core Coaching Skills for Teachers, Trainers & Educational Management – October – December 2021
"Séamus is a rare type of coach, in my opinion. His ability to listen with an open mind and heart is just a starting point. Séamus has the ability to distil insight and awareness with attunement and powerful language, and he has the keen ability to draw out the power in my own language. he holds focus and structure to allow the coachee to meander paths of meaning, knowing that we will laser in on what's important and get to the path (get back to the path) we need to be on. He masterfully applies NLP concepts that have not only impacted me as a coachee, but as a coach and trainer, too. His ability to carry forward points of importance from previous sessions into new sessions is especially valuable. One particular thing I credit Séamus with is that he has invited me to expand what is possible and to create a vision that is ever-evolving in significance, resonance and potential. Through Séamus' coaching, I operate with a deeper sense of learning and acknowledgement, and also a focus that has lead me to achieve personal and professional goals that not only have enriched my life, but have expanded and deepened the value of the work I commit my energy to"

Returning with Resilience & Resolve - September 2020
"Séamus, I would like to say a massive thank you to you as well. I found our sessions together incredibly powerful and rewarding, and I am moving forward with projects in my life that had been stalled for quite some time. Not only that, but it's had an unexpected knock-on effect on other areas of my life, for example, I took out a gym membership and have been swimming almost every day, so my health is feeling as well-looked after as my mind at the moment! The energy and positive outlook I have on my life right now is, I know, down to the fruits of our sessions, and I can't tell you how grateful I am for this."

“Today’s session has been interesting in many different ways. It has taught me new vocabulary, phrases and useful expressions. Moreover, it has given me great ideas to use with my students in class. It has been a pleasure to join the session because of the great people taking part and the amazing capacity of the teacher to get us to think and enjoy learning.”

Sensationally Speaking – November 2018
“I began working with Séamus two years ago when I was leaving my life as a Translation Project Manager behind and decided to prepare the public examinations to work as a teacher. He helped to focus on the preparation and to keep my motivation high during the whole process. I felt very supported since he provided me with many innovative coaching tools to make me reflect about my goals and inner resources, as well as to stay calm and control stress. Séamus is a talented, natural coach. His guidance challenged me to think beyond just the job goals and adopt a wider vision of my life.”
Anastasio Santana Fernández
Coaching for Opositores – CDL Madrid- October 2018
“I have no words to express how much Séamus
helped me in the tough process I was going through. He’s not only a
coach; he guided me to the core of the problems, reasons or events that
had taken me to the point where I was when I met him. He definitely
doesn’t see those limits I was putting on myself. He’s admirable since
he’s always ready to help, he’s resourceful and optimistic and although I
might have been a bit skeptical at the beginning, he taught me and
showed me I was completely wrong since he could see things I wasn’t able
to even think about. He always sees beyond and, following Monty
Pythons’ amusing and inspiring song, he ‘Always look on the bright side of life’, getting everyone see things differently. Next to him, I felt there was nothing I could not achieve. Thank you Séamus. ‘Don’t let the b*st*rds grind you down’.”
